Job Description

A local public-sector organization is seeking a Customer Service / License Revenue Clerk to assist customers with business license applications, payments, and general revenue-related questions. This position prepares and issues licenses, collects fees, processes financial transactions, maintains records, and prepares reports. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service, basic math, computer, and administrative skills and be comfortable handling payments and detailed financial information.

Responsibilities:

• Assist customers with business license applications, requirements, fees, and payment procedures
• Prepare and issue business licenses and collect applicable fees
• Receive and process payments while maintaining accurate transaction records and files
• Prepare monthly tax and revenue reports and establish files for new businesses
• Maintain organized records and provide administrative support to accounting and finance operations as needed

Qualifications and Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Experience or training in bookkeeping, business technology, cashiering, or a related office environment
• Strong customer service and verbal communication skills for assisting customers in person and by phone
• Basic math skills, including calculations involving decimals and percentages and balancing numerical information
• Computer skills for entering text and numerical data, processing documents, maintaining records, and using specialized programs
• Ability to read and understand procedures, regulations, fee schedules, and related documents
• Ability to work efficiently, meet deadlines, and contribute as part of a team
